Spring forward. Let’s keep moving.

Happy happy first day of Spring. 🌸 Get ready to see lots of spring outfits in the upcoming posts. Yo, I am a fashion blogger. Gotta stay on top and keep things moving. Which I rarely do.  And that brings me to the topic of this post..

When I was not-so-old, my one and only goal in life was to lose weight. *Now that’s something we have never heard before Monika!*. Every Monday marked the beginning of exercising regularly and eating healthy. Every Wednesday marked the beginning of not exercising at all and eating everything in sight. BUT hey, come Monday and I started all over again. *I have always believed in being consistent*. Time passed, my focus changed from losing weight to other things but the falling and getting back up part has always remained constant. The only difference is that now I do it publicly. Oh-so humiliating Monika. How? I promise to post every week. Be active on social media. I do it for a few weeks. I fail. I start all over again. The cycle repeats. I know I know, you must be thinking what’s the deal with her, never sticks to her goals bla bla. Guys the point of this post  is not to focus on my shortcomings. No no no no.. It’s about focusing on how amazing I am. It always is. Ok just jk. Lol the point I  am trying to make is that no matter how many times I fall flat on my face, I get back up with the same zeal to start all over again with the hope to succeed. Whether “success” is ever achieved is debatable. 🤔

IT’S OKAY TO FALL. Fall as many times as you need to. But make sure you get back up every time life knocks you down. Get back up with the same zeal. Get back up with the same enthusiasm. Get back up with the same energy. Get back up with the same belief that you can achieve your goals. I am sure alot of you are absolutely great at meeting  goals *I am so so jealous!* but I am also sure there are so many of you like me who have to repeat the cycle a million times before you are able to get shit done! And that’s absolutely OKAY too. The main point is to keep moving. Ofcourse there will be roadblocks and speed bumps but you gotta keep moving! 🚶🏽‍♀️

HONOR YOUR PACE. Even if you are moving at the speed of a snail, it’s fine. Atleast you are going somewhere. So many times I have felt the need to speed things up *which I kinda maybe should anyways work on!* after looking at the social media feed of others. It always seems like everyone has their life sorted and I am falling behind. Then I ask myself, “What does falling behind even mean?”. And my ever-so-compassionate soul answers.. “Maybe chica it’s about your face falling BEHIND all the extra fluff aka double chin , dark circles .. oh well let’s not say anything more” 🐼. YOU ARE SO-NOT FUNNY SOMEDAYS.. But in all seriousness, it’s is important to focus on your own pace and not get blinded by the shiny objects you see all around.

GIVE YOURSELF GRACE. Always. We are so hard on ourselves, magnifying our faults and not focusing enough on all the amazing things we do. I may not have posted last week and maybe kicked myself a little for being inconsistent *and here I started this blog bragging about being consistent. 🙄* but I am so proud that I cooked almost everyday at home last week, met my professional commitments and started my day with lemon water. Yes, give yourself a pat for all your accomplishments, big or small. And pardon yourself for the things you are still working on. 🤗

I have a feeling that this week is definitely not my falling-flat-on-face week *💃🏽💃🏽* so I thought let’s make things interesting by sharing 3 of my personal goals for the week with you all –

  1. Drink green smoothie 5*week
  2. Post on social media 5*week
  3. Exercise 3*week <ofcourse it had to be part the list. Duh!>

For all my absences, I know one thing for sure – I absolutely love writing and sharing tid-bits of my life here. It may be tiring but I’ll keep coming back to this small space of mine. If there’s something that gives you pure bliss, keep doing it no matter how many times you fall/fail to keep up. You and I may not be running at full speed but we are walking and that is enough for now. Remember to KEEP MOVING!! 👣
